After the growth phase of high-volume products is over, the process moves to designing and manufacturing of press tools for large volumes. Seger Oy has the skills and the capacity for designing and producing hard tools.

Seger Oy also co-operates with a network of tool manufacturers. This means that even the largest projects can be handled within the agreed time frame.

There are hard tools for a wide range of different kind of products. Typical tools are preform cutters, bending tools, deep-drawing tools, and progressive tools. Tools can be combined with other functions such as threading and riveting with cutting, bending and progressive tooling.

When accepting tools for production, verifying measurement accuracy of the product against the tools, our 3D coordinate measuring machine is a valuable tool to ensure this. When accepting off-tool samples, we act in accordance with our customers’ requirements. Our customers require that before any tools are accepted for production, they go through the PPAP acceptance process.
