R&D and Prototypes

We wish to get involved in R&D project as soon as the customer has a vision about their new product. Our contribution to the project is our expertise in manufacturing mechanical components using different kind of methods.

It is important to take into account various options for different volumes and product features, and design a product so that any necessary techniques are effectively available at any point of the product life cycle, without having to make subsequent changes in them.

Prototype manufacturing serves the product development process. Seger Oy has a specialised prototyping team that handles production of prototypes and pre-series of customer’s products, before serial production has started. The prototyping team makes products quickly and at a high level of quality, without disturbing serial production. Pricing of products is order-based, the price has to cover production costs so that the customer may order serial production from any supplier of their choice. Alternatively, price structure can also be negotiated differently.

Prototype manufacturing is run by personnel who has a long experience in product development and different manufacturing techniques. This means that the customers can get competent feedback directly from the prototyping process.
